At DUO on Kronenplatz, researchers and the public engage in dialogue on the topics of a just energy transition and sustainable, affordable housing. Within the framework of an immersive art installation and an interactive exhibition, key findings of the EU-funded research project Prefigure - coordinated by the Institute for RegionalScience (IfR) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) - are presented. Through creative and participatory methods, we invite participants to collaboratively explore how public space can be reimagined and developed as a collective “living room” in the urban context. Together, we aim to devise innovative approaches for climate-just and socially inclusive urban living in the city of the future.

As part of the excursion, participants will receive a guided tour of the DUO knowledge transfer installation and gain insights into the scholarly work of the Prefigure project. A subsequent discussion will provide an opportunity for exchange on the themes of a just energy transition and future-proof, affordable housing.
